Course Objectives:
The symposium is designed to provide the most up-to-date information available on new advancements surrounding hepatitis and other liver diseases. At the completion of the program, participants should be able to:
Review clinical outcomes and safety data for community based hepatitis C patients treated in a primary care HCV clinic
Review the latest information on treatment of hepatic encephalopathy
Describe the current principles of the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)
Describe parameters of disease progression in HBV and list FDA-approved medications for chronic hepatitis B.
Target Audience:
This symposium is designed for physicians with an interest in liver disease including gastroenterologists, internists, infectious disease specialists and primary care providers. We also welcome physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurses who participate in the care of patients with liver disease.
