Information Technology and Monitoring in the I.C.U. of the Future at UCLA

Course Overview:
This is a two day conference designed to discuss innovative strategies for ICU design and functional operation in the next decade. This conference overlaps with the 2nd annual UCLA Neurocritical Care Meeting that will be held on day 2 of the meeting.

There are many challenges to the delivery of intensive care in the emerging future. Intensive care will occupy over 1/2 of acute care hospital beds within the next decade and will be the focus of intense pressure to both improve care while limiting cost. Information technology, advanced imaging techniques, and outcomes based research will be increasingly used to achieve these goals.

Suggested audience:
Physician intensivists, nurse practitioners, intensive care unit nurses, hospital administrators, hospital architects and designers, nursing administrators, information technology specialists, healthcare industry manufacturers and executives.
