Our Mission
The Institute for Medical Educationsm is committed to the development and implementation of cutting edge programs in
continuing medical education. Our belief is that physicians must maintain the highest levels of skill in their areas of expertise. To
this end, IME will develop and implement programs through varied needs assessment techniques. These programs will integrate
proven methods and theory. Programs will be directed toward physicians of all levels of experience and at various points in their
professional development.
Continuing medical education is an evolving concept and requires constant reinforcement of previously acquired information as
well as new information. To achieve this goal, IME will utilize various learning techniques which will include not only traditional
learning formats, but the evolving state-of-the-art modalities which are crucial to the physicians and communities they serve. IME
will continue to offer innovative programming which will meet specific needs, be directed to focused physician populations, and
will be continually reassessed for clinical relevance.
CME activities provided by IME include seminars, didactic and hands-on workshops, moderated round table discussions, prerecorded and live video presentations, and interactive participant response technology. Programs are provided on a local and regional basis and geared primarily to those physicians practicing in California.
IME’s Primary Goals include :
- The development and implementation of programs which maintain and increase the knowledge of physicians primarily practicing in California.
- The development of educational activities utilizing a variety of educational techniques.
- The continual reassessment of continuing medical education activities for content, timeliness, and clinical relevance.
- Ongoing measurement of the effects of CME programs on changes in practice patterns and continuous quality improvement.
